Dover’s Walk-Off Seals The Deal In Trion Victory Over Walker
The Bulldogs seized victory in dramatic walk-off fashion, thanks to a walk-off error at the end of the game to topple Walker. The game was tied at four with Trion batting in the bottom of the seventh when an error scored one run.
Trion earned the victory despite allowing Walker to score three runs in the fourth inning. Walker’s big inning was driven by a triple by Groover, a single by Miller, and a double by Waibel.
J.D. Helms led things off on the mound for Trion. He surrendered three runs on three hits over three and a third innings, striking out two and walking zero.
Taylor was on the pitcher’s mound for Walker. He surrendered four runs on eight hits over six innings, striking out seven. #9 threw two-thirds of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Trion had ten hits in the game. Andy Allen and Brier Ingle each racked up multiple hits. Allen led with four hits in four at bats. Trion didn’t commit a single error in the field. Blaine Woody had five chances in the field, the most on the team.
Walker collected nine hits on the day. Waibel and Scottall managed multiple hits for Walker.
